Seark Concert Association will present a concert of Christmas music performed by the Memphis-based men’s vocal ensemble BealeCanto at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 12, at the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Fine Arts Center.

BealeCanto is a play on the phrase “bel canto,” which is Italian for “beautiful singing.” The inclusion of the word Beale in the group’s name is a nod to the famous street in Memphis that is known around the world for its rich musical heritage. BealeCanto is dedicated to fostering men’s singing throughout the Mid-South region, expanding that mission nationally and internationally as they promote male singing in schools and society.

“We hope everyone will come out and join us for this wonderful concert of seasonal music,” said Susan Akin, president of Seark Concert Association. “We will definitely hear some beautiful singing that will put everyone in the holiday spirit, and the show will feature a special treat – UAM graduate Christian Feazell, who performed in many productions during his time at the school, sings tenor in the ensemble.”

Tickets for the concert are $20 and may be purchased at the door, or in advance in the office of the UAM Music Building Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by calling 870-460-1060.

The concert is sponsored by Simmons Bank.

Also on Saturday, a Men’s Vocal Master Class will be offered at 2 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center’s Spencer Gallery. The class will be taught by members of BealeCanto. The cost is $25 and interested persons may make reservations by calling 870-460-1060.
