Beatrice “Bea” Mazzanti, 89, of Lake Village died on March 7, 2019 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.
She was born on May 9, 1929 at Portland and was the daughter of the late Simon Peoples and Lydia (Estes) Peoples.
Mrs. Mazzanti worked for 58 years as a Registered Nurse, for Lake Village Infirmary, which later become Chicot Memorial Medical Center, before retiring. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Lake Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dave Hackett; mother, Lydia (Estes) Peoples; brother, Cecil Peoples; and four sisters, Frances Wilson, Estelle Crawford, Mary Breedlove, and Lucille Peoples.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Joseph B. Mazzanti, a son; Mike Mazzanti of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Vaughta Glover of McGehee and Sylvia Pierce of Hamburg; a brother, Henry Dave Hackett of Dermott; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. with Rosary at 6 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, 314 South Lakeshore at Lake Village, with Steven Hart as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery in Lake Village.
