Friends and supporters of injured Star City linebacker Zack Towers are sponsoring a benefit walk-a-thon on December 1 at Cane Creek State Park to raise money for Towers and his family. Towers, a senior, has been hospitalized since he collapsed on the football field in the Bulldogs’ November 1 home game against the Crossett Eagles.
The run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. and is hosted by the Star City High School cross country team, Star City High School EAST Lab, Cane Creek State Park and sponsored by Star City businesses Los Toritos, Piggly Wiggly and Bank of Star City. The registration fee is $10 per participant and all money raised will go to the Towers family, according to Geoff Wright, park interpreter at Cane Creek State Park.
For a registration form or more information emailing Wright at [email protected] or call him at (870) 628-4714.
