Bennie Jean Edwards Bolen, 72, of Star City died on December 27, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
She was born May 17, 1943 in Wrightsville to the late Frank and Ruth Grimes Edwards. She was a member of Crigler Missionary Baptist Church, She worked at Frizzell’s as a butcher and cashier. She owned her own restaurant and she enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Also preceding her in death were an infant son, Johnny Lee Bolen and brother, Jack Edwards.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Bolen of Star City; son, Michael (Amanda) Bolen of Star City; 3 daughters, Frankie (Todd) Henry of Gravette, Betty (Tim) McGregor of Star City, and Rhonda (Marshall) Gates of White Hall; 3 brothers, James (Cheryl) Edwards of Woodlawn, Bobby Joe Edwards of Pine Bluff and David Edwards of Monticello; 2 sisters, Ruth Ann (Jerry) Barbaree and June (Johnny) White, all of White Hall; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and very special friends, Patti Blundell, Shirley Kulbeth and Dolly Harmon.
Funeral services are December 30 at 3 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Leopard and Bro. Bill Davidson officiating. Visitation is 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are Bo McGregor, Marshall Gates, Todd Henry, Matt McGregor, Josh McGregor, Clayton Gates and Austin Gates.
