Betty Jean Hill Green, 77, of Star City died on September 13, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Star City. She retired from Arkansas Department of Correction as the head of the Industrial Department to start her fishing career. She was a member of the Rising Star Fishing Club.

Mrs. Green was born on September 5, 1938 in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Eual Garland and Linnie Belle Ricks Hill.

Also preceding her in death were four brothers, E. G. Hill, Roland J. Hill, Troy L. Hill and Bobby Joe Hill; and two sisters, Euist A. Ross and Lorene Vanlandingham.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Gene Green; a son, David Earl Green, both of Star City; a daughter, Beverly Green McKennon of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Michael Earl McKennon, Thomas R. Green, Jennifer Green and Gari DeAnn McKennon; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is September 15 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on September 16 at 10 a.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tom Lamb officiating. Burial will be at Drake Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Miles McGriff, Mike McGriff, TR Green, Michael Vick, Franklin Long and Mike Brockman. Honorary pallbearers are Toby Hill and Robert Hankins.
