Betty Jean Johnson, 82, of Crossett, passed away on August 7, 2014 at the Life Touch Hospice Facility in El Dorado.
She enjoyed crocheting and watching westerns, especially “The Rifleman” and anything starring John Wayne. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she belonged to the “Young at Heart” group and served as the Sunday School Secretary for 11 years.
She was born in Warren on August, 1, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Fred Ray and Doshie Marie Williams.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herman L. Johnson; five brothers, Jack Williams, Billy Williams, James Williams, Gerald Williams and Don Williams; and four grandchildren, Jaicee Danielle and Jacob Alexander Causey and Joshua and Sadie Johnson.
She is survived by five daughters, Donna Lee and husband Mike of Whitehall, Terri Roberts and husband Steve of Arkadelphia, Jeanne Cozine and husband Rick of Fortson, Ga., Susan Powell and husband Wayne of Waldo, and Lisa Causey and husband John of Monticello; one son, David Johnson and wife Veronica of Lexington, Ala.; along with 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held August 9 at 9 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Crossett with Bros. Eric Hodge and David Tohlen officiating. Burial will be at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett. Pallbearers will be Gary Herron, Aaron Lee, Scott Sasser, Zach Vest, Richard Stich and Don Woods. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Sasser and Darren Boykin.
Visitation will be August 8 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home in Crossett.
