Betty Jo Marks

Betty Jo Marks, 88, of Crossett, passed away March 20, 2020.

She was born in Russellville on July 15, 1931 to the late Roy Earl and Ruth Galentine Jones.

She as a graduate of Dardanelle High School where she met the love of her life, William R. Marks. They married in 1952.

Mrs. Marks was a dedicated Air Force wife and had the luxury of traveling all over the world. She was a teacher for 20 years with the majority of her time teaching first grade at Price Elementary School. She made a difference in so many of her students’ lives over the years.

Mrs. Marks loved her family, especially spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and gardening. She also had a private pilot license.

She served the Lord with all her heart and was an active member at the Church of Christ in Crossett. She taught Sunday school at that church to numerous young children throughout the years. She also was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an organization for women educators.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marks was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Robert Marks.

She is survived by her sister, Patsy Keller of Farmington; brother, John Jones of Grand Prairie, Texas; two daughters, Kathryn Bush and her husband, Michael Bush of Orlando, Florida and Patricia Lovett of Crossett; four grandchildren, Joanna Smith (David) of Dundee, Florida, Dana Abney (Jon) of Roanoke, Virginia, Douglas Bush (Robyn) of Davenport, Florida, and Leslie Lauhon (Derek) of Crossett; and five grandchildren.
