Betty Jo Tucker, 88, of Dermott died on November 24, 2018 at McGehee-Desha County Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was a bookkeeper for several businesses in Dermott before retiring from the City of Dermott.
Betty was born on April 1, 1930 in Palmyra and was the daughter of the late Taylor and Effie (McBryde) Tucker.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, TV Tucker, and three nieces, Sharon Tucker Hartness, Mary Jo Pamplin, and Janet Tucker Clark.
She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Tucker; two nephews, Eddie Pamplin and Danny Clark; a, great-nephew, Larry Clark; three great-nieces, Kathy Jo Gregg, Wendi Fortenberry and Amanda Hays; great-great-nieces, six great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great nephew; and her long-time caregiver, Missy Long.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 1, at 2 p.m. at the Dermott United Methodist Church.
