A man riding a bicycle in Union County was killed Friday evening on Highway 82 in Strong, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Jason Williams, 43, of Monticello, was riding a bicycle east on Highway 82 Friday evening when the bicycle struck the left front of a westbound Honda Accord, according to the accident report. Williams was ejected from the bicycle and struck the windshield of the car before coming to rest in the westbound lane of the highway where he was struck by westbound Ford Edge, according to the report.
The drivers of the Honda Accord and the Ford Edge were not injured. The accident occurred at 6:45 p.m. on January 3. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
At least 5 people have died as a result of accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary figures.
