The Arkansas State Highway Commission has accepted bids for road projects in Bradley and Desha counties.

In Bradley County, the commission accepted a $223,431 bid from C&F Construction Company Inc. of Smackover to resurface 1.48 miles of West Pine Street in Warren.

In Desha County, a $239,473 bid was accepted from R. Thompson Inc. of Hamburg to rehabilitate and resurface 0.8 miles of Thompson Street and 5th Avenue in McGehee.

The projects will begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting, and will be complete this fall.

The projects are being funded through the State Aid City Streets Program, approved by lawmakers in 2011 and voters in 2012. The program provides $20 million annually from the state motor fuels tax to assist cities with projects selected by a nine-member panel of Arkansas mayors.
