Bill Watson, 86, of Warren, died on May 16, 2015 the Bradley County Medical Center.
He was a retired Arkansas State Police trooper who was named Arkansas State Trooper of the Year in 1966. He retired as a sergeant after 36 years of service with Troop F Troop in Warren.
Mr. Watson also served United States Marines, loved to coach boxing to local children through the Warren Optimist Club, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing dominoes.
He was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Mr. Watson was born on August 17, 1928 in Conway County and was the son of the late Conner Watson and Laura Brock Watson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Ruth Watson and a sister, Lorrain Plant.
Survivors are a son, Don Watson and wife Patsy of Warren; a daughter, Donna Ragar and husband, Jim of Bentonville; three grandchildren, Larry Watson, Tony Ragar and Trent Ragar; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on May 19 at 2 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren with Rev. Jerry Berley officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Butch Belin, James Calloway, Michael Reynolds, Gary Pruitt, Jerry West and Bill Slaughter.
