Billie Jean Chatman Staffney, 60, of Monroe, La., died March 4, 2014 at her daughter’s residence in Monroe.
She was a native of Crossett, a former employee of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Mrs. Staffney was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Chatman & Emma Gray Foreman, two brothers, Robert Lee and Clemmie Chatman.
She is survived by one son, Franco Johnson of Crossett; two daughters, Demetria Wilson and Lakelsei Staffney, both of Monroe, La.; two brothers, Robert Foreman and wife Rosa Linda of Bakersfield, Calif. and Clarence Foreman and wife Bertha of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters: Gloria Nalls and husband Clarence of Baton Rouge, La., Jean Chatman-Bean and husband Wardell of Strong, Jewel Tolliver and Jerrie Williams, both of Crossett; six grandchildren, Daja and Sa’rya Williams, Quindarius and Diquan Wilson, Tayjon and Gavyn Johnson and a host other family, loved ones and friends.
Funeral services will be held March 9, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Elizabeth Lenoir and Pastor Jesse Radford, Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Visitation is March 8 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
