The Monticello Billies dropped to 0-2 in non-conference play Friday night when the Magnolia Panthers gained the 17-13 win, their first win since October 2011.
Monticello seemed to have the running game going its way behind Omar Simpson in the first quarter of play, but after a fumble that was recovered by Magnolia with 3:04 left in the quarter, the Panthers began their march down field. After a sustained drive, Magnolia scored the first touchdown of the contest with :14 left in the quarter after a 20 yard run by Justin Dockery.
