Billy Charles Jenkins

Billy Charles Jenkins, 71, of Crossett, passed away on December 8, 2021.

He was born on November 25, 1950, to his parents, Willie Herman and Myrtle Leen Watt Jenkins.

Billy was a lifetime resident of Crossett and a devoted member of Magnolia Baptist Church. He was fascinated with clocks, watching log trucks, and watching “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune,” which he rarely missed.

Most importantly, Billy was an ambassador of Christ, a true soldier of God who, without hesitation or fear, loved to tell others about Jesus. He read his Bible daily and could quote scriptures and entire chapters with ease. He worshipped and loved others with enthusiasm, and his love for Jesus spilled out into every song he sang and every hug he gave. He was a “fisher of men” and wore the title proudly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and leaves behind five siblings, Jimmy Jenkins (Mary), Glen Jenkins (Elizabeth), Betty Williams (Owen) and David Jenkins, all of Crossett, and Peggy Adams (Mike) of Hamburg; his uncle, Jap; aunt, Lois Watt; and aunt, Verda Mae Rogers of Mayflower; two special nephews, Jason, and Lane Williams; a special niece, Jeanie Morgan; and a host of other beloved family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 10 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 11 at 2 p.m., at Magnolia Baptist Church, 822 Marias Saline Road in Crossett with pastors Mike Griffith and Mike Chain officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Lane, Jason, and Colten Williams, Timmy Jenkins, Ken Jenkins, Jerry Morgan, Glen David Jenkins, and Randy Townley. Honorary pallbearers are Austin Williams, Larry Senn, Tommy Lamb, Brian Jenkins, the Magnolia Baptist Church mens’ Sunday school class, and Billy’s cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Magnolia Baptist Church ministry in Billy’s honor.
