Billy Dean McBurnett, 75, of Star City, passed away on December 22, 2019 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

He was born on November 2, 1944 in Sheridan to the late A.L. and Juanita Golden McBurnett.

Mr. McBurnett was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class; was a veteran of the United States Navy; was the laundry manager for the Pine Bluff Arsenal, retiring in 2004; he was a member of the Sammie Ray Harrison VFW Post 2746 in Star City; and enjoyed collecting and hunting for “junk.”

Survivors include his wife, Karon McBurnett; daughter, Kari (Randy) Newton of Star City; sister, Wanda Jean Bateman of Pine Bluff; two grandchildren, Kassidy Dean Newton and Clinton Lynn Newton; and one great- grandchild, Case Allen Williams.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, at Leek Cemetery with Bro. Vic McGehee and Bro. Jarrod Pettit officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, prior to service, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home.
