Billy Gene Young, 78, of Star City, passed away December 29, 2020 at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock.

He was born September 3, 1942 in Warren to the late Curtis M. and Margie L. Balentine Young.

He was a member of Overcoming Faith Worship Center in Star City, a retired operator for International Paper Company and served in the Arkansas National Guard from 1963-1969.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Young and a grandson, Dustin Alan Lybrand.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Dial Young of Star City; two sons, Steven (Angela) Young of Star City and Gary L. (Gina) Young of Rison; three daughters, Renee (Michael) Majors of Star City, Karen (Kevin) Herring of Star City and Lea Ann (Gary) Bradley of Dumas; two brothers, Wayne (Joann) Young of Bryant and Phillip (Linda) Young of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Thursday, December 31, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Masks are required inside the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 1, at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery at Rye with Bro. Don Borland officiating.
