Billy Keith Scales, 83, of Watson, passed away on November 25, 2016 at his home.

He was a horse trainer, rancher and a farmer. He was member of Watson Methodist Church, Cattleman’s Association and the National Cutting Horse Association.

Mr. Scales was born July 4, 1933 in Yancopin, Arkansas and was the son of the late James and Lula Irene Sinkey Scales.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Mary Evelyn Scales and Mary Lou Scales and two brothers, Sammy and Ronnie “Pete” Scales.

Survivors are three sons, Jerry (Cindy) Scales of Dumas, Bill (Linda) Scales of Fordyce, and Joe (LaJuan) Scales of Watson; three daughters, Karen (Larry) Neeley of Dumas, Nancy (Gary) Minchew of Benton, and Kim (Curry) Branham of Gillett; two brothers, Bobby Scales of Texas and Jimmie Scales of Watson; a sister, Patricia Vaden of Watson; and eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on November 28 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Dumas. Funeral services will be held on November 29 at 2 p.m. at Watson Assembly of God Church with Rev. Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Watson Cemetery.
