Bobbie Jean Causey Teague, 91, of Crossett, passed away on January 18, 2020 at 2 p.m.
She was born at New Edinburg, on May 10, 1928.
She was a devout Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Crossett for more than 65 years. She taught 5th grade students 20½ years at North Crossett Elementary School. She earned her bachelors’ degree in education at UAM and her master’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Ellen Childress; a brother, John Childress; her first husband, M.R. Causey, Jr.; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Causey; and her second husband, Charlie F. Teague.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ellen “Liz” Causey; adopted daughter, Martha Horn; sister-in-law, Mildred Childress Miller and niece, Tami Childress Phillips.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord and her family, her beautiful soprano voice in the church choirs, the unconditional love and generosity to her family friends, church, community, students and neighbors and the love and respect she had for everyone of all races. She will be also be remembered as one of the best cooks that Crossett has ever seen.
She had an amazing admiration and wonderment of nature and animals. This charismatic, dynamic lady and her positive approach to life has left an impression on so many and impacted us all. This is her legacy. When she left us to walk into the arms of Jesus, her daughters, Liz and Martha were at her side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Crossett with Greg Bennett officiating. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Interment is in Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home. Pallbearers are members of FBC.
