Bobbie Jean Trotter, 84, of Monticello, passed away on January 1, 2016.
She was a member of Pilgrim Rest A.M.E Church in Monticello, which her grandfather helped build. She attended Drew High School. She was united in holy matrimony to Lee Otis Trotter Sr. To this union, ten children were born. She was a homemaker and a cook.
Bobbie was a loving soul who loved to help those in need. She always had a warm plate and a listening ear to anyone that needed or even wanted it. Mudia never met a stranger and always carried a smile wherever she went. She greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. She treasured her kids and adored her grandchildren. She made all of them feel special and loved. She had a warm spirit that touched the lives of many. Everlasting memories will remain with her family who loved her dearly and to the many persons whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Otis Trotter Sr.; one son, Darrell Lyn Trotter; three sisters, Floyie Castleberry, Claudia Dunlap, and Vashti Johnson; and one granddaughter, Thashala Cherice Rafter.
She leaves nine children to cherish her memory: Bennie (Earnestine) Trotter of Harvey, LA, Rosie Lee Trotter, Belinda (James) Wells, all of Monticello, Dennis (Monica) Trotter of Houston, TX, Cassandra Trotter of Pearland, TX, Deborah Trotter of Monticello, Kenneth (Katie) Trotter of Wilmar, Lee Otis (Pamela) Trotter Jr. and Rodney Trotter of Monticello; two sisters, Margaret (Ulysses) Johnson of St. Louis, MO and Marilyn (Charles) Dew of Monticello; a brother-in-law, Walter Trotter of Omaha, NE; 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory a grandson whom she reared as her own, Herman Folk Jr.
Funeral Service will be held on January 9 at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest AME Church with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
