Bobby “Bob” Edward Brown, Sr., 78, of Dumas, formerly of Hope, died peacefully on November 16, 2016 at Delta Memorial Hospital with his loved ones by his side.
He served in the United States Air Force, attended UCA where he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, and was a successful entrepreneur all his life.
Mr. Brown was an avid hunter and lived for his passion: golf. He raced a Harley Davidson sportster in flat track from 1960-1965 and retired undefeated. He built and flew his own ultralight airplane and was an avid traveler in his motorhome.
He was a proud Christian man who gave God the glory in everything. He attended the Church of Christ in Grady. He loved life and will be missed by so many people. His passion for living was contagious.
Mr. Brown was born on May 13, 1938 in Sparkman and was the son of the late Wilburn Dan Brown and Willie Jo Walker Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Loyl and John Olen Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Ernestine Brown; his three children Bobby E. Brown Jr. (Jean) of Hot Springs, Ginger Brown Lemm (Floyd) of Starkville, Mississippi and Terry Brown Lerew of Hope; two step-children, Ricky Branson (Lisa) of Dumas and Beth Ann Zabinski (Mark) of Rogers; seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren; a brother, Billy Brown of Heber Springs and a sister, Betty Casebolt of Virginia.
Visitation is November 21 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Edwin Branson officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery.
