Bobby H. Chance, 72, of Hamburg, died on November 7, 2014 at his son’s residence in Camden.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam era. He retired from the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill in 2004. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 30 in Sheridan and he loved hunting, fishing, mud riding and spending time in the outdoors.
Mr. Chance was a native of the Norrell Spur Community in Ashley County. He lived in Memphis for 11 years and returned to Hamburg in 1964.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillian Norrell Chance; a brother, Charles Leon Chance; and a sister, Violet Chance.
He is survived by a son, Toney Chance of Camden; two brothers, Donald Chance of Monroe, Louisiana and David Chance of Sheridan; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew and Cody Chance and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held on November 10 at 2 p.m. at the Carlock Cemetery with Bro. James “Buddy” Morris officiating. Pallbearers are Norman Swan, Allen Swan, Larry Norrell, Fred Norrell, John Louis Chance and John Craig.
