Enhancing Sport Performance (ESP) is hosting the 2012 ESP-BOLL WEEVIL COMBINE on May 26. The event is open to student-athletes who will be in grades 9-12 during the 2012-13 school year. An athletic combine is an event at which athletes perform a series of tests of speed, agility, strength, and power. This type of event is becoming increasingly popular as a part of the collegiate athletic recruiting process. The drills that will be included in the ESP-BOLL WEEVIL COMBINE are the same type of drills that are used in football camps and other combines. Participation in this event will help to better prepare area athletes to perform their best in tests of athleticism.
The specific tests and measures to be included in the combine include the following: height and weight; 40-yard dash (hand-timed), with 10-yard and 20-yard splits; 3-cone drill (“L”-drill); Short Shuttle (Pro Agility, 5-10-5); Standing broad jump; Vertical jump; and Bench press for repetitions (165, 185, or 225 lbs).
The 2012 ESP-BOLL WEEVIL COMBINE will be held at the UAM Indoor Practice Facility on Saturday, May 26th, with registration from 8-9 am and the combine beginning at 9 am. The cost is $10, and participants receive a t-shirt. Registration materials are available online at www.esp-training.com under the “Camps. Clinics, and Combines” tab, as well as at the South Arkansas Rehab building located at 1200 Old Warren Road in Monticello.
