Despite initial concerns that tomatoes would be scarce at the 57th Annual Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival, there were plenty to go around. The box of tomatoes pictured on the left, however, came with a big price tag: $900.
Tommy Maxwell, of Monticello (pictured below wearing the Pryor sticker on his lapel) was the winning bidder on the box of tomatoes at the Bradley County All Tomato Luncheon, one of the most popular events at the festival.
In the photo above, Tony Cathey auctions the tomatoes while Miss Pink Tomato and Teen Miss Pink Tomato hold the coveted tomatoes and U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor looks on.
Seark Today will have a feature on the festival Monday morning.
