The Bradley County Historical Museum will be featuring its expanded Tomato Exhibit during the 2013 Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival on June 14 and 15. The Museum will be open on Friday and Saturday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The museum recently announced the addition of approximately 200 new items of tomato memorabilia donated by Mamie Mitchell Lawson in memory of her mother Lucille Wilson Mitchell Young.

Lawson, 89, of Hot Springs, began collecting tomato items in her childhood. When moving to a retirement home, she contacted the museum to inquire if it was interested in the collection.

Lawson, who grew up in Camden, donated most of her collection to the Bradley County Historical Museum.

“The museum is extremely grateful to Lawson for the gracious donation and the board hopes to have her visit the museum during the festival,” according to a Bradley County Historical Museum news release.

Stop by the museum on Friday or Saturday during the festival and view the new and expanded collection of tomato items.
