The Bradley County Job and Resource Fair has been set for May 10 at the Immanuel Baptist Church Life Center in Warren from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The event will include two new resources this year. A state Department of Workforce mobile van with computers to help individuals with job searches and resumé preparation and the state Department of Human Services Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) van.
Representatives from the state Department of Corrections – Cummins Unit; state Department of Workforce Services; state Department of Human Services – from Little Rock and Bradley County; state Department of Children & Family Services – Bradley County; state Rehabilitation Services; state Workforce Center; Area Agency on Aging; Employers Staffing of America; Evergreen Packaging; Experience Works; Hospice Home Care; Jefferson Comprehensive Care Services, Inc. (Parents as Teachers Program); Manpower; Millcreek of Arkansas; Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corp; Southeast Arkansas Community Based Education Center (College of Technology, Internship, Early Childhood Program, Career Connections, Adult Ed); the Secretary of State’s office; Southeast Arkansas College – Pine Bluff; St. John’s Place; The Woods of Monticello; Transitech, Inc.; University of Arkansas – Cooperative Extension Service; the U.S. Army; Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home; Wal-Mart; and the Warren Police Department will all be on hand. Several have current job openings and will be taking employment applications on site, according to a job fair news release.
“We’re always excited about the job fair because there are so many great opportunities for the people of Bradley County,” said David King, a job fair committee members and director of the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce.
Dorothy Henderson, a job fair committee member and state Department of Human services county administrator said the Bradley County Job and Resource Fair gets better every year. “We are pleased to offer this job and resource fair to the community,” she said.
The event is sponsored by the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce and the Bradley County DHS office staff.
