A Bradley County man has been arrested for allegedly choking his girlfriend on January 1 while she was driving a car, according to a news release from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.
Steve Acuapa, of Bradley County, is facing domestic battery, disorderly conduct and public intoxication charges in connection with an incident on Longview Road in Drew County.
According to the news release, Mykayla Rawls was driving south when Acuapa allegedly grabbed her wrist and began choking her. She stopped the car and jumped out. After she exited the vehicle, Acuapa refused to allow her back in the car.
Three separate 911 calls were made about the incident. After taking statements from Rawls and her friends, deputies arrested Acuapa.
