run-rudolph-2The CALL in Drew County has postponed its first annual Run Run Rudolph 5K fundraiser on until December 10, at 8 a.m. at McCloy Park in Monticello.

Proceeds will be used to provide The CALL in Drew County with the best possible resources to educate, equip, and encourage the Christian community to provide a future and a hope for children in foster care.

Statewide, there are about 5,200 abused and neglected children in need of a temporary foster home and about 500 children waiting for an adoptive family. Today, there are around 40 children in foster care in Drew County with fewer than 10 families ready to take them in. There is a crisis shortage of both foster and adoptive families.

Not all of us are called to foster or adopt, but we are all called to care for the orphans in our community. You can join The Call by walking or running in the 5K on December 10. There will be best Christmas costume and division awards. A $20 registration fee guarantees the applicant a t-shirt if pre-registered by November 25. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. the day of the race.
