Carl Lee Stevenson

Carl Lee Stevenson, 80, of Dermott, passed away December 15, 2021.

He was born April 11, 1941 in Dermott, to the late Arie C. Stevenson and Leona Elizabeth Sledge Stevenson.

Carl Lee served in the United States Army National Guard. He formerly worked at Barnett-Phillips Lumber Company and owned and formerly operated Muller Lumber Company in Canton, Mississippi. Carl Lee and Beverly moved to Arkansas in 1972 and owned and operated Barnes Furniture Company. He later started his lawn care service and took care of several churches and cemeteries, as well as many individuals’ lawns.

Carl Lee loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Sledge Hunting Club. Carl Lee was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, where he served on the building and grounds committee.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Baughman and his brother, Brian Stevenson.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Beverly Gadpaille Stevenson of Dermott; sister, Lois (Ed) Lee of West Monroe, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Ramona (Richard) Sheridan of Pangburn, and their daughter, Amanda Hooper of San Diego, California; niece, Paige (Jim) Keith and their children of Cantonment, Florida and Kathy Lee Rutledge and her children of Calhoun, Louisiana.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18 at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Dermott with Rev. Bobby Franklin and Rev. Steve Wilson officiating.
