Carol Sue O’Neill

Carol Sue O’Neill, 78, of Star City went to Heaven February 8, 2022.

She was born in Sacramento, California on April 13, 1943, but raised in Monticello at the Baptist Home.

Mrs. O’Neill was a 1962 graduate of Monticello High School. She married John Lee O’Neill, of Monticello, on June 23, 1962.

She was a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, Awana, and Bible school for many years. Early in her life, she was a hairdresser in Monticello. Later on, she worked at Illinois Tools in Pine Bluff. She loved to cook, crochet, read, and attend church with her family. Most of all she loved her grandkids and great grands.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee O’Neill, and a great-granddaughter, Tori Moore.

Survivors include three sons; John Edward and Nancy O’Neill of Star City, Lee O’Neill (Debby) of White Hall, and Dale O’Neill of Star City; six grandchildren, Tabitha O’Neill-Moore (Thomas) of Star City, Ashley O’Neill (Clay Matthews) of Star City, Jaycee O’Neill-Sweet (Luis) of Star City, John O’Neill of White Hall, Michael O’Neill, Justin O’Neill, and a bonus grandson, Noah Noble; two great grandchildren, Case Moore and Aubree Moore; and a special caregiver, Brenda Pittman.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 11, at 2 p.m. at O’Neill Cemetery near Warren with Bro. Jarrod Pettit and Bro. Elmer Byerly officiating. Visitation is Thursday, February 10 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.

Pallbearers are Randy Noble, Clay Wynn, Bruce Hudd, Mike Brockman, David Burton, Mike Crofford, and Ricky Owen.
