Catherine J. Edmonston, 88, of Crossett, passed away on August 16, 2014.
Mrs. Edmonston retired from Georgia Pacific #1 mill after working as a secretary for 44 years. She enjoyed working in her yard, working crossword puzzles, and fishing. She was a wonderful hostess.
Mrs. Edmonston was an active member of North Crossett First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was born on February 17, 1926 at Crossett and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lummie Sutton Johnson.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edmonston was preceded in death by three brothers, Dooley, Braska and Doyle Johnson; three sisters, Mildred Hughes, Exie Hodges and Charlene Barrett; and her husbands, Carrol Roberts and R.H. Edmonston.
Survivors include four step-daughters, Vickie Ramsey and husband John of Heber Springs, Terri Webb, Toni Hyatt and Tracy Monk, all of North Little Rock; a special niece that she raised, Susie Bolin (Sammy) of Crossett; six grandchildren, Jody Parker, Brian Amaden, Jacob and Kreglyn Hyatt, Jeanie and Dora Ralph; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held August 19 at 2 p.m. at North Crossett First Baptist Church with Bro. Robin Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Visitation will be held August 18 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the church.
