Charles Edward Hensley, 81, of Eudora, passed away on July 6, 2017 at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View.
He served as a sergeant in the United States Army from December 1953 until June 1959. He married the love of his life, Donna Lee Lane Hensley April 3, 1959 and spent the next 58 years building a life with her in Eudora. He was the founder of Hensley Dozer & Backhoe, Inc., in Eudora.
Mr. Hensley was born on July 25, 1935 to the late Clayton Henry and Adell Virginia Jones Hensley in Miller County.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice Hensley and C.H. Hensley; a sister, Bernice Daly, and a son in law, Bobbie Joe Sibley.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna Hensley; a son, Charles Clayton Hensley and wife, Lecia of Eudora; a daughter, Cheryl Hensley Sibley of Batesville; two brothers, Roger Hensley and wife, Vivian, of Eudora, and Donald Hensley and wife, Sheryl of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Patsy H. Robertson and her husband, Alvin of Montgomery, Alabama and Billie Jean Reginelli of Lake Village; three grandchildren, Lane Sibley Smith and husband, Eric of Dover, Karen Sibley Jones and husband, Tim of Batesville, and Chad Hensley of Eudora; two great grandchildren, Lucas Smith of Dover and Brooks Jones of Batesville, and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery Pavilion with Brother Jeff Tarver officiating.
