Charles Odis Smallwood, Jr., 84, of Dumas, departed this life on March 7, 2022.
He was born October 9, 1937, in Lincoln County and was the son of the late Charles Otis Smallwood, Sr. and Elois Howerton Smallwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Bonnie Smallwood, and sister, Emma Lee Sparks.
Charles was member and deacon at Rankin Chapel Baptist Church in Dumas and a member of Gideons International.
During his employment, Charles worked at Matthews, Westside Lumber Company, and Berry’s. He was was a true Christian man and will missed by his family. Charles enjoyed hunting and was a locksmith.
Survivors are a son, Dennis Smallwood of Dumas; daughter, Barbie Smallwood of Dumas; two brothers, Kenneth (Mary) Smallwood of Dumas, and Travis (Kay) Smallwood of Haughton, Louisiana; two sisters, Jo Ann Wells of Pine Bluff and Jean (Jimmy) Jones of Dumas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Rawson and Rev. Wesley Spark officiating. Burial will follow at Dark Corner Cemetery.
