Charlie Cole, 81, of Star City, passed on August 10, 2021 to his heavenly home.
He was born May 1, 1940 in Lincoln County and spent his childhood in Chicot County around Lake Village.
At age 9, Charlie often went hunting by himself to get meat for the family. At age 15 he started driving on the farm; he drove the cotton picker and anything with a motor.
Charlie sold farm equipment for 42 years and managed two farm equipment stores. He was the Lincoln County Judge for terms. He retired at age 68. Charlie loved to work, he often said, “I like making money, I just don’t like spending it.” He and Dee traveled the first three years of retirement, traveling to more than 21 states.
Charlie was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Star City. Charlie loved people. One of his greatest joys was the children at his church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Norris Cole and Eunice Rauls Cole Mack; three sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Dee, whom he married June 9, 1995; two children; two grandsons; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two sisters; and one brother.
There will be no formal services at this time.
