Charlotte Douglass Wigley, 84, of Hamburg, died February 27, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. Wigley was a native of the Mist community and a resident of Hamburg for most of her life.
She was a homemaker, a member and song director of the Southside Baptist Church and a former member and song director of Gardner Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved to play the piano, sing at the nursing home, and visit with the nursing home residents.
Mrs. Wigley was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Lynette Nutter in 2015; a great-grandson, Dominick Monroe Savage; her parents, William Clifton and Virgie Mae Ferguson Douglass; two brothers, Thad Anderson Douglass and Waymond Douglass.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, W.M. Wigley of Hamburg; a daughter, Mary Ann Galvin of Johnson City, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Doug Nutter, Ashley Savage, Amanda Galvin and Melissa Galvin; five great-grandchildren, Dakota, Leland, William, Jamie and Jacob; three great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Enslee and Jacoby and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at the Southside Baptist Church with Rev. David Newberry officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday, February 29, at the funeral home.
