7 Cs of History

Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church: March 21-23

Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church on March 21-23 will host a conference outlining the seven major events of the past and the future: “Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation — the 7 C’s of History ,” according to a news release from David Jacks, pastor of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Drew County. The news release:

Today’s post-Christian world is out to undermine the authority of God’s Word.  In fact, our society has become anti-Christian, and the biblical account of Creation is under attack by Bible skeptics as never before.  Much is at stake, for the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross is based on the foundational book of Genesis.

Generations of people have been brought up to view the Bible as merely a book; a book containing many interesting stories and moral teachings, but in the end, just a book.  This lack of understanding and appreciation for God’s Word explains why people, especially young people, have so many questions about how the Bible relates to issues they face in their lives.  These issues include evolution, the age of the earth, abortion, the origin of life, fossils, sexuality, death, racism, marriage, suffering, salvation, dinosaurs, and many other important topics.

To help you understand how the Bible relates to these topics, on Friday-Sunday, March 21-23, 2014, Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church is hosting a conference that will outline the 7 major events of the past and the future: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation—the “7 C’s of History.” This study will help you see the Bible as the history book of the universe.  By putting on our “Biblical glasses” we will learn to see the world from a Biblical perspective. Such a perspective will help you make sense of the world you live in and assist you in defending what you believe (I Peter 3:15).

The conference speaker is Dr. Don White, Jr., a research scientist with the University of Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station. He is also Professor of Wildlife Ecology in the School of Forest Resources at the University of Arkansas-Monticello.  Dr. White earned his Ph.D. in 1996 in Wildlife Ecology from Montana State University-Bozeman, studying grizzly bears in Glacier National Park, Montana.  Currently, Dr. White and his graduate students conduct scientific research on white-tailed deer, elk, black and grizzly bears, and mountain goats in Arkansas and Montana.  Dr. White, his wife, Nancy, and their 2 children are members of Shady Grove where Dr. White teaches a large Bible study class.  Dr. White has taught throughout the U.S. on Biblical creationism and creationary biology.

All conference sessions will include worship and celebration. Ms. Kimberly Jacks will provide special music throughout the conference. The teaching sessions of the conference will be digitally recorded by a professional video production company. The conference, including lunch on Saturday, is free-of-charge.  A nursery (newborn-2 years) and exciting activities for young people 3-8 years will be provided.

On behalf of the entire congregation and members of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, we warmly extend our invitation to you and all the members of your family and Church to our 7 C’s of History Conference.

Please do not hesitate to contact the church office if you desire additional information. We ask that all those planning to attend the conference to please notify us of your intent by Monday, March 17, 2014.

Sincerely in Christ,

David Jacks
