Clarence Dewayne Beard, 69, of Crossett, passed away June 8, 2021, at the St. Francis Specialty Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana.
He was born in Camden, Arkansas on February 20, 1952.
For seventeen years, Dewayne worked on offshore oil rigs for 17 years before driving trucks for 30 years for various employers.
Dewayne was a big jolly guy who loved watching the Razorbacks and Cowboys play football. He also enjoyed hanging out visiting with friends, having fish frys and barbequing. He loved people, especially children, and was always the first to check on family members after bad weather. Dewayne was playful and generous and would do anything for anyone.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Clarence Millard Beard; his mother and stepfather, Ouida Miller Jordan, and Charles Jordan; his wife, Peggy Beard; one sister, Lou Dodson; and one brother, David Van Wright.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory one son, Richard Beard of Crossett; one granddaughter, Victoria Beard of Mexico; one sister, Jean Wilson of Louisville Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Jeanie Lloyd (Andy) of Crossett, one brother-in-law, Kenneth Watt (Charlotte) of Lake Village, and one niece, Debbie Moody (Jerry) of El Dorado.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Watt, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Gabe Jenkins, Phillip Wisecarver, Brett Henry, Bryan Watt, Jerry Moody, Robert Fletcher, Dawson Albritton and James Farrish.
For those wishing to attend the service remotely, the service will be live-streamed on the Medders Funeral Home facebook page.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 10 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
