The Clear Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Drew County recently received an $11, 612 grant to purchase a new water truck.
The grant was presented at an October 12 awards ceremony in the Governor’s Reception Room at the Arkansas State Capitol where Britt Burris, a representative from the Clear Creek Volunteer Fire Department accepted the grant award on behalf of the fire department.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson, Arkansas Economic Development Commission Director Mike Preston, and Department of Rural Services Director Alex Johnston presented $191,217 to 17 rural communities selected for Fiscal Year 2016 Cycle I funding through the Arkansas Rural Community Grant Program.
The Division of Rural Services works in partnership with the Arkansas Rural Development Commission to administer the Arkansas Rural Community Grant Programs in three cycles each year. Incorporated cities and towns and unincorporated communities in rural areas of less than 3,000 in population are eligible to apply for assistance through the mayor or county judge’s office.
