Cleveland County voters approved a two-cent sales tax increase with nearly 70 percent of the voters voting for the tax hike. The election was held in conjunction with the county’s 2014 primary election.

The new tax, which does not have a sunset clause, will eliminate the county residents’ current quarterly solid waste bills.
