A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his estranged girlfriend, Yolanda White, and forcing her into a BMW with plans to take her to Texas, according to a news release from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.

Corey Beavers, age unavailable, is being held at the Drew County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond for suspicion of kidnapping and second-degree domestic battery.

Drew County deputies on April 4 at approximately 10 p.m. received a 911 call from Winchester reporting that White, age unavailable, had been assaulted, forced into a black BMW and taken against her will by Beavers, her estranged boyfriend, according to the news release.

Deputies then notified surrounding law enforcement agencies to “be on the look-out” for a 2011 black BMW. The license number of the car was also provided.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 5, David Crutchfield, a Monticello Police officer, observed the black BMW at an ATM machine on the east side of Monticello. During a traffic stop of the vehicle, White reportedly told deputies that Corey Beavers, originally from Texas, assaulted her and intended to take her against her will to Texas.

Beavers was arrested at the scene and deputies took White to the hospital for medical treatment. She had injuries to her left eye and facial area, according to the news release.
