Courtney Keller’s love of science and desire to serve others led her to her “dream job” at Mainline Health Systems where she is a pharmacist.
“I decided to pursue a career in pharmacy because I wanted to make a positive impact on patients’ lives and I’ve always loved science,” Keller said. “It seemed like the perfect field for me.”
Keller received a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Arkansas where she received a Bachelor of Science degree.
A native of Lake Village, Keller returned home after completing her studies. “I found my dream job at Mainline and I wanted to be closer to my family,” she said.
Providing a brief overview of Mainline’s pharmacy management services, Keller said she works with patients and providers to ensure the patient is compliant with medications and they are on the right medications.
“We want our patients to be the healthiest they can be,” Keller said. “We work with the patients to individualize our services to them. We offer counseling on diet and exercise as well as medication adherence.”
In her professional philosophy, Keller looks to the Golden Rule. “I try to treat every patient like I want my grandmother treated,” she said. “I guess it’s ultimately the Golden Rule of treat others how you want to be treated.”
Keller is also guided by her favorite quote by Charles Dickens: “No one is useless who lightens the burdens of another.”
She believes there is always a way to help someone. “It is why I do what I do everyday at my job,” she said. “I believe we can always serve if we have open hearts and open minds.”
Keller has worked for Mainline since August 2019 and lives in Lake Village where she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her Maltipoo, Maci.
