Crossett law enforcement officers, firemen and paramedics will be conducting their first Boots and Badges fundraiser on November 2 to raise money for Special Olympics.
The fundraiser will be held at the Walmart Supercenter in Crossett from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. when the first responders will attempt fill their boots and buckets for Area 12 Special Olympics.
Area 12 includes Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Chicot, Cleveland, Dallas, Desha and Drew counties.
The Drew County Boots and Badges fundraiser held October 26 in Monticello raised $2,369.93.
“With the economy the way it currently is and the day and age of the debit card — no cash on hand, I am very pleased with the amount raised,” said Area 12 Special Olympics Co-Director Karen Caldwell. “It shows that even in tough times people are willing to dig deep and donate.”
