Dana K. Brown Dean, 65, of Monticello, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at her home.

She was the widow of Larry Dean, a cashier at Ryburn Motor Company, and a charter member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Monticello. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and taking care of her children and grandchildren (who were the love of her life) and loved her church and church family.

She was born August 27, 1951 in Harrisburg to the late Bassie Brown and Edna Hawkins Brown. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Kenny Davis and wife Michelle of Monticello and Lance Davis of Monticello; one daughter, Staci Gregory and husband, Brian of Texarkana; the father of her children, Cotton Davis of Monticello; a special mother-in-law, Doris Davis of Monticello; five sisters, Sherry Casteel of Knoxville, Tennessee, Amellia Killingsworth, Joyce Thompson, Rachael Vail all of Monticello and Glenda Miller of Bastrop, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Blake Shirey, Michael Davis, Morgan Davis, Mason Davis, Reagan Gregory and Bret Gregory; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on December 31 at 11 a.m. at New Life Assembly of God Church in Monticello.
