Darrell L. Whitehurst, 76, of Bradford, formerly of Dermott, died on January 25, 2015 at Harris Hospital in Newport, Arkansas.
He was a retired United States National Guard sergeant, a member of the American legion, a Baptist and a retired construction worker.
Mr. Whitehurst was born on March 18, 1938 in Dermott and was the son of the late Cecil Earl Whitehurst and Cora Hester Palmer Whitehurst.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy and Pete Whitehurst.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Masters Whitehurst, of Bradford; two sons, John Whitehurst and wife, Ann of Monticello, and Jimmy Whitehurst of Bradford; a daughter, Mary Whitehurst of Bradford; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and host of niece’s nephews, and friends.
Visitation is January 27 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. Funeral services will be held January 28 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro Larry Donaldson officiating. Burial following in Dermott Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
