David Joe Tolbert, 82 of Star City, died on December 12, 2016.
He was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at Palmyra. Joe was an electrician for over 50 years. He loved his family, friends, church, working in the garden and working in his flower beds, but above all, he loved God.
Mr. Tolbert was born on January 12, 1934 to Lula Pearl and William Thomas Tolbert in Hillsboro, Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Huddleston; brothers, Grayson, Burkett, Carl, Buford and Homer Tolbert; and a grandson, Bradley Adams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Valeda Tolbert; son, Russell (Maria) Tolbert of St. George, Utah; two daughters, Suzanne (Randall) Halliburton of Lonoke and JoAnn (William) Adams of DeWitt; sister, LaVelle Moore of Cabot; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; seven great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra with Bro. John Marlar officiating. Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial with a short graveside service will be at Forks LaGrue Cemetery in DeWitt, AR at 2:30 p.m.
