Dean Thorton, 60, of Tillar, died on June 9, 2016 at his home.

He was a member of Cornerstone Holiness Pentecostal Church of God of Dumas, was a former employee for TSL as a truck driver; and served in the United States Army.

Mr. Thorton was born on March 28, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas and was the son of the late, Glen and Dora Zenoma Thorton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Thorton; a grandson, Glen-Micheal Vincent Thorton; and a great granddaughter, Marissa Marie Ridgell.

Survivors are his wife, Janis Curtis Thorton of Tillar; a son, Chris (Skinny) Thorton of Lono, Arkansas; three daughters, Jennifer Thorton of Monticello, Stacy Thorton of Monticello, and Ashley Thorton of Hot Springs; three sisters, Lou Bills of Dumas, Thelma Kirkland of Queen City, Texas and Berna Guffy of Ashdown; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Memorial services will be held on June 12 at 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Holiness Pentecostal Church of God. Love offerings for Mr. Thorton may be given at Cornerstone Holiness Pentecostal Church of God P.O. Box 1001, Dumas, Arkansas 71639.
