Delbert Walter Weaver, 94 of Tillar passed away April 22, 2015.
Mr. Weaver was a member of Richland Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason and the D.A.V. He was a retired farmer; and a veteran of World War II; he held the rank of sergeant in the United States Army.
He was born on February 17, 1921 in Desha County the son of George and Mamie Weaver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lydia Ellen Cosby Weaver; one son, Bobby Joe Weaver; 11 brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Arlene Weaver, two sons, Delbert Larry Weaver of Junction City, Oregon and Lawrence Ray Weaver of Ft. Worth, Texas, daughter, Margie Higgins of Texarkana, Arkansas, step son, Brian Chapman, Tillar, step daughters, Rita Lee, Batesville and Charlotte Maynard, Little Rock, seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held April 24 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Dumas. Funeral services will be held April 25, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Hilburn officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Cemetery.
