Dianna Rose DeAngelo SimsDianna Rose DeAngelo Sims was born on August 18, 1952 in Lake Village to Angelo and Lois DeAngelo.

She was one of seven children, Santo, Paul-Francis, John David, Angelo Caesar Philip, Sister Maria G. DeAngeli, and Victoria Regina.

Dianna graduated from Lakeside High School in 1970 then studied at the University of Arkansas in Monticello. From there she began her forty year career as a nurse for Chicot Memorial Medical Center.

She married Archie Lee Sims in 1981. They raised four children, Electra Marie DeAngelo, Ross Angelo Sims, Archie Lee Sims, Jr., and Daniel Clayton Sims. She was a loving grandmother of eight, four boys and four girls. Her eldest child, Electra (Chris Marcum) has three children, Erin-Marie Nicole DeAngelo, Dominic Angelo Tucker and Trevin James Marcum. Her eldest son, Ross Angelo (Dallas Short Sims) has three children, Ross Alexander, Cole Angelo and Isabella Annelise; and her youngest son, Daniel (Ashley Morgan Sims) has two daughters, Pheobe Nacole and Annabeth Paisley.

Dianna will be remembered for being everyone’s mother. It didn’t matter if it was her own child or one of their friends, there was always a warm and loving welcome, a place to sleep and a meal ready to go. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and five siblings, countless nieces and nephews, as well as friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home chapel with rosary at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with burial following in St. Isidore Cemetery in Lake Village under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
