Dianne Swan Hartness, 66, of Crossett, passed away on February 19, 2020, in Little Rock.
She was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, on August 12, 1953, to her parents, Harold and LaVerne Pamplin Swan.
She was a 1972, graduate of Crossett High School. For most of her life, she worked in retail, managing Jr. Food Mart and EZ Mart before purchasing Roadmart, which she operated for ten years.
Dianne enjoyed fishing, dancing, and cooking, but especially loved spoiling her grandson and playing with her dog, “Bruno.” She believed in working hard and giving all she could, not only to her job but to help anyone in need. She gave quietly and freely to the homeless and would often buy gifts to help families at Christmas. No matter what the need, Dianne would always reach out to help a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Harold Swan, and the “love of her life,” Glen McCallister.
She is survived by her son, Joey Walton (Robbin Phillips) of Crossett; her mother, LaVerne Swan of Crossett; a brother, David Harold Swan of Pine Bluff; a sister, Vickie Jo White (Wayne) of Camden; and a grandson, Christian Raye Walton of Mountain Home; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Her family will hold a memorial Service on Saturday, February 22, at 1 p.m. at the First United Pentecostal Church.
