Dillon Eugene “Gene” Martar, 85, of Kilbourne, Louisiana died on April 16, 2020, at his home.
He was born on October 29, 1934 in Monticello, Arkansas to the late John Wesley Martar, Sr. and Bessie Mae Nolan Martar.
Mr. Marter was a member of the Indian Switch Assembly of God Church in Eudora, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a pipefitter and welder for more than 35 years before retiring and becoming the handyman for Kilbourne residents.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Richard and Byron Martar; six brothers, R.L., Hewie, John, Carl, Thomas, and Joe Martar; and one sister, Marteel Sammons.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vaunda Jean (Pack) Martar of Kilbourne, Louisiana; two daughters, Rhonda Posey and husband John of Kilbourne, Louuisiana, and Carla Martar of Greenville, Mississippi; one brother, Bill Martar of Eudora; one sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Smith of Kilbourne, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Dwan, Aaron, Adrian, Jacob, Seth, and Christopher; and seven great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews friends and other family.
Burial will be at Bell Cemetery at Wilmot, Arkansas.
