Options, an agency that serves domestic violence victims in Southeast Arkansas, will recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month on October 30 with a candlelight vigil on the Monticello town square. The vigil will begin at 6 p.m.
“We are calling on the community to come together to stand for victims of domestic violence,” said Stacey McKeown, a domestic violence intervention advocate. “We stand for those who have lost their lives. We stand for those who cannot speak up due to fear of retribution and shame. We stand for the children, the forgotten victims, who are exposed. We stand together for awareness and hope. Please come join us for a candlelight vigil to commemorate those we have lost due to domestic violence and to honor the survivors.”
Options, Inc. operates an emergency shelter for abused, homeless victims of domestic violence and their children. The agency serves victims in Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, and Drew counties.
